چکیده

Introduction Until recently, in utero fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) had minimal clinical utility due to marked interference from motion artifacts. Technical advances in the MR soft (ultrafast sequences) and hard ware (fast gradients, surface coils) now allow to apply MRI for prenatal diagnosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ultrafast, T2weighted single shot fast spin-echo (ssfse) sequence in prenatal diagnosis of fetal malformation.

Isolated fetal lymphatic malformation of the thigh: prenatal diagnosis and follow-up

Fetal lymphatic malformation can be found in different parts of the fetal body. It occurs most frequently in the nuchal and axillary region and less frequently in the abdomen or inguinal areas. Lymphatic malformation has been associated with fetal aneuploidy, hydrops fetalis, structural malformations, and intrauterine fetal death. A 31-year-old gravida 3, para 2 woman was admitted to our hospit...

Evaluation of Subependymal Gray Matter Heterotopias on Fetal MRI.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Subependymal grey matter heterotopias are seen in a high proportion of children with Chiari II malformation and are potentially clinically relevant. However, despite its growing use, there is little in the literature describing its detection on fetal MRI. Our aim was to evaluate the accuracy in diagnosing subependymal gray matter heterotopias in fetuses with spinal dysrap...

Discriminative imaging of maternal and fetal blood flow within the placenta using ultrafast ultrasound

Being able to map accurately placental blood flow in clinics could have major implications in the diagnosis and follow-up of pregnancy complications such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). Moreover, the impact of such an imaging modality for a better diagnosis of placental dysfunction would require to solve the unsolved problem of discriminating the strongly intricated maternal and feta...

Comparison the Accuracy of Fetal Brain Extraction from T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (HASTE) MR Image with T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (TRUFI) MR Image by Level Set Algorithm

Background Access to appropriate images of fetal brain can greatly assist to diagnose of probable abnormalities. The aim of this study was to compare the suitability of T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (T2-TRUFI), and T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (T2- HASTE( magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to extract the fetal brain using the level set algorithm...

Magnetic resonance imaging in obstetrics and gynecology.

Magnetic resonance imaging of the female pelvis permits visualization of soft tissue structure previously unseen with other radiological techniques. The internal architecture of the corpus uterus, cervix and vagina are directly visualized in any plane. Furthermore, the hormonal environment of the female can be indirectly determined via assessment of the MR appearance of the uterus. Similarly, t...
